Two Spanish soldiers are involved in the horror of Civil War; fate - or chance - will allow them to survive that hell. However, the friendship they were able to forge in these times of adversity will be corrupted by betrayal.
Facing a nation devastated by war, Argentina is seen as the ideal place to take refuge in. The former friends will set off for Argentina, although at different times and with different outcomes. Torcuato (Vicuña), for instance - after practically "taking over" the life of his partner - will be the one who gets the most benefits in this prosperous American soil, since he will be involved with the most elegant and aristocratic of society (also with the shadiest). He will also have the good fortune to meet Lucia (Chaves), a young woman from a well-off family in disgrace who, driven by an ambitious and arrogant mother, will be forced to marry the Spanish magnate, eager to acquire social prestige.
On the other hand, Bruno (Baró), the hardest hit, will arrive to the "promised land" later and will fight to recover what was vilely taken from him. Lucia will be the missing part to enter the world of Torcuato. However, love will stand in their way ...
This daily program is set in Argentina in the 30s, a time of abundance and progress, with waves of mainly European immigration, followed by a period of political and economic decline.
